On a warm afternoon in 2012, at a mutual friend’s birthday celebration, Mulisa saw Munei. Although they had crossed paths before, this was the first time he truly noticed her. As everyone was leaving the party, he gathered the courage to ask for her number.

A few days later, he tried calling, only to discover she had given him her MXit number! After finding her on Facebook, she shared her real number, and what began as a simple conversation grew into a beautiful friendship.

Through university, with Mulisa in Cape Town and Munei in Bloemfontein, countless phone calls brought them closer. They became each other’s greatest encouragers, speaking life into each other’s dreams and believing that better days were always ahead.

On 18 January 2020, after a lunch date, Mulisa pulled the car over on their way home and asked Munei to be his girlfriend.

She said yes.

Their relationship began during the annual fasting and prayer at Mulisa’s church, where they intentionally committed it to God. That foundation of faith has guided them through every season.

Even when COVID kept them apart, Mulisa in Johannesburg and Munei in Venda, they grew closer through intentional communication. Together they celebrated milestones and every dream that became reality.

Then, on 24 September 2025, after months of secret planning, Mulisa surprised Munei with a proposal. Standing before a beautiful setup with a saxophonist playing in the background, he got down on one knee.

Once again…

She said yes.

Now, on 28 November 2026, they begin their greatest chapter yet as Mr. & Mrs. Badugela, a love story built on friendship, faith, and choosing each other every single day.
